What is The Diploma of Viticulture Management ?
The Diploma of Viticulture Management is a 4 semesters within 2 years course incorporating the Certificate 1V in Viticulture. It has been designed to meet the needs of people who are working in or seeking work in the Viticulture Industry.
The full time course aims to provide participants with comprehensive, advanced technical and management training to meet the needs of Vineyard Managers in both the corporate and private sectors in Australia and overseas. The course has been designed to enhance career and study pathways within the Viticulture industry.
Graduates are actively sought by many viticulture businesses. For those who wish to further their studies at University there are credit transfer arrangements.
What does The Diploma of Viticulture Management cover?
Certificate IV in Viticulture Management includes: develop a crop regulation and plant nutrition program, supervise work routine and staff performance, analyse and interpret production data, monitor and manage soils/growing media, develop and implement sustainable land, design irrigation system maintenance and monitoring programs.
Diploma of viticulture includes:
- - Plan, implement and review a quality assurance program
- - Implement a machinery management system
- - Plan and manage long term weed, pest and/or disease control in crops
- - Plan and monitor production processes
- - Deverlop and implement sustainable land use strategies
- - Monitor and review business performance
- - Develop and review a business plan
- - Manage environmental performance
- - Manage a small team
Access to Resources
Students will take field trips to appropriate industries and visit operating vineyards and wineries. They will have use to a well equipped resource centre including the a computer suite plus access to cdroms, texbooks, film, video, audio visual and online materials.
Commencement Date
The Diploma of Viticulture Management course commences in Feb 2009.
Expressions of interest are also being taken for ongoing course enrolments.
Entry Requirements
Satisfactory completion of year 12 or overseas equivalent.
English proficiency demonstrated by IELTS 5.5.
